A reminder from the Governors and Mr Thomas about the consultation meetings relating to the proposed Braunton Learning Cooperative…

Just to remind parents and staff that the first of the public consultation meetings relating to the proposal to form a new Braunton Learning Cooperative Trust are being held today!  The meetings are being hosted by Southmead School, which is located on Wrafton Road in Braunton (opposite Braunton Academy).  The meeting times are:

2.40pm – an open meeting for parents of all the schools proposing to form or join the Trust (Braunton Academy, Southmead Primary, Caen Primary, Marwood Primary, Kingsacre Primary and ourselves)

4.15pm – an open meeting for staff from all of the above schools

5.30pm – an open meeting for members of the public and parents/staff from all schools

We hope that you have had a chance to read the consultation material and would encourage you to ask questions and respond.  The public meetings above are a chance to speak directly to the schools involved and hear their aims for the trust as well as ask questions.  The meetings today will cover both the process of conversion and how the trust will form.  We will also be holding meetings specifically for our parents on Tuesday 11th June – at 2.45pm for those able to attend before school pick up and at 6pm for those who may find an evening meeting better.  We can talk to you directly about how we believe the Trust will benefit our school.  We would definitely encourage parents to attend one of these meetings, even those whose children will be leaving school at the end of this academic year as the proposal very much includes Braunton Academy.

If you are unable to attend any of the meetings but have thoughts or questions you can send them to the following consultation email which is being used to gather public feedback on the proposal:

We look forward to seeing you at one of the meetings,

Mr Thomas and the Governors
