Tarka Gymnastics…

2018-03-26T17:31:39+01:00

Class 4 have been having Gymnastics sessions with Jon Skinner for the past few weeks and Jon really wanted to give our children an experience of the gymnastic club resources over at Tarka Gymnastics Club.  We're always limited to 1/2 a class at a time in our school hall due to the size of our school hall, the amount of [...]

Sport Relief 2018

2022-08-18T13:27:16+01:00

What a busy week we've had at school, yesterday it was book characters and today our clothing had a distinctly sporting theme. We had climbers, footballers, gymnasts, swimmers, surf life savers and many more outfits today arriving in the playground this morning. Great fun 😀

Rain catchers!

2018-03-22T16:24:31+00:00

To relate to our measurement unit in maths and our weather unit in Science, today we made rain catchers! We talked about capacity and looked at different ways we could measure how much liquid we have. We split into groups and made 5 rain catchers to plant in our outdoor area. We used a ruler to make marks on the [...]

Spotlights have gone up a gear…

2022-08-18T13:27:16+01:00

Spotlights, when we see and hear about a particular subject that's interesting to the year 6 child... a development from the Show & Tells in subsequent years... Today's Spotlight was from Max, and fortunately we could see the view of his VR Headset through our projector and hear through our sound system too. A few of us had fun on [...]

At last! Spring has arrived…

2018-03-21T15:33:37+00:00

It’s been a peculiar couple of weeks for Stepping Stones with lots of changes, however it definitely feels like things are starting to take shape. :) Last week we started to talk about Spring and the children have absolutely loved group discussions about what happens during Springtime. We have had lots of stories to support the topic, have been practicing [...]

Measuring in class 1!

2018-03-21T14:15:39+00:00

Over the last two weeks we've been looking at measurement. Last week we were looking at the difference between height and length. We created a class height chart and compared each others height! We also used cubes to measure length and year 1s were using rulers to compare the length and width of different objects! Eli and Gil decided to [...]

…almost-a-snow-day

2022-08-18T13:27:16+01:00

Another surprising weekend / Sunday of fun! We cleared the playground and pathways this morning, with some initial work on Sunday afternoon (the photo above) but had to delay the start of school due to the amount of ice on the road. Communication seems to have worked well with Facebook (Twitter pushes its post to our FB Page) and Devon [...]
