Good-bye and Good Luck year 6!!

2022-08-18T13:27:23+01:00

Good-bye and Good Luck year 6!! Well done to all our year 6s for a fantastic end to their time at Georgeham - their acoustic version of 'Thank you for the Days' did Mrs P proud. They have been a super year group and it was great to celebrate their many achievements and successes (and enjoy Mrs Holborn's photographs from [...]

2015-07-23T16:21:52+01:00

SOLAR SCHOOL UPDATE  We have now received the money from our successful Fullabrook bid and also from the Good Energy art competition. Many thanks to both of those organisations. This means we have reached our target! We are thrilled to announce that planning permission has been granted and the solar panels will be installed during the first week of the [...]

End of the year…!

2022-08-18T13:27:24+01:00

We made it.  phew. Well done, congratulations and we hope you have a lovely summer. Because we need to keep it quiet right until the last minute, the newsletter couldn't have details of the three annual trophy winners so we thought we'd blog them! The school's Rose Bowl trophy goes to Lottie Cunliffe! The Tony Fletcher trophy goes to Molly Elliott! The Spirit [...]

A WHOLE SCHOOL BIKE RIDE…?!

2022-08-18T13:27:24+01:00

Yes, a whole school bike ride. Who on earth came up with that one?  (Blame Mrs Mortimer!) However, isn't it just one of the highlights of the school year now? 2 x punctures, 4 chain re-settings, handle-bar tightening... one bike was completely overhauled and then replaced with Miss Hill's Alfie's bike!  Also Alfie's helmet came in useful! 1 x fly-over-the-handle-bars after allegedly [...]

Class 4’s Got Talent!

2022-08-18T13:27:24+01:00

Yesterday class 4 proved they had talent by the bucket load as they took part in our end of term talent show. Hosted by Sam and James (definitely the Ant and Dec of Georgeham School) and judged by our very own pannel of experts, the afternoon saw some talented singers, musicians, dancers and gymnasts all show off their skills. Quite [...]

The Cycle Ride is on…

2022-08-18T13:27:24+01:00

Given that it's going to be warm with sunny intervals tomorrow... the cycle ride is on. :-) Please make sure you're there promptly for your route's departure time otherwise they may have to leave without you. Remember to drive slowly in Tesco's car park and park close to the top corner (by the recycling) and away from the front doors; [...]

Met Office this morning…

2022-08-18T13:27:24+01:00

We're going to keep monitoring the weather over the next 24 hours to see if there are any developments, since Tuesday's got some mixed weather to it according to the Met Office this morning. We know we have some hardy folk who would cycle in all weather but we also have some not-so-hardy-folk, oh and some young children, who wouldn't like to spend [...]

Science at Braunton Academy

2015-07-11T09:10:12+01:00

On Friday afternoon Class 4 went to Braunton Academy for a workshop to investigate the 'Science of Colour and Light'.  Everyone lit a Bunsen burner and investigated the various colour of flames that different chemicals produce. A great afternoon...one child claimed that "it was the best fun ever" and he could "happily do this all day" :-)

Essex Dance

2015-07-07T06:32:48+01:00

The children were totally captivated yesterday when we went to watch the Essex Dance Group - they were brilliant and inspiring! We even had a go at a couple of moves ourselves! The photos don't do them justice but give you an idea of what took place!
