I hope you all had a good half term break… we’re all looking forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow!

Covid update and World Book Day info (This Thursday) below.

Thank you for your understanding at our early closure for half term.  It was a good decision looking at how bad it finally got.  We only got slight damage here with some guttering, sheds losing their felt, but the big one was Class 2’s Barn losing some of its long plastic roof panels.  (Thanks to Mat Turner for doing a patch repair whilst we wait for some replacements!)   I hope everyone coped through the storm!

Covid-19 restrictions eased on Thursday and we’ve had some guidance from the Department for Education that we can now share.  Much of it is very similar.

  • Children who are unwell shouldn’t come to school – these include fever, muscle aches and coughs (an endless list).

  • If symptoms develop to a temperature, cough or loss of taste / smell they should isolate and test.

  • Parents and settings shouldn’t ‘second guess’ a diagnosis – if they have these symptoms, they should isolate and test.

  • A negative test – remain at home until 24-hours fever-free.

  • Positive test – stay at home for 10 days (or 2 x negative tests from Day 5).

  • Close contacts (household and overnight contacts) can continue as normal, but be vigilant.

  • Face coverings don’t need to be worn by staff or visitors.

  • Parents can come into the building… and so we’ll share these opportunities as soon as they arise.

We still need to have good hand hygiene, clean the school as well as we have been doing, keep Google Classroom LIVE and ready if needed and also communicate through this blog as and when the need arises.

World Book Day – please come dressed in some way that depicts a favourite character or book.  There’s no monetary donation like we do with non-uniform days… it’s just a fun day.  (Plus, we had lots of donations from you last term, some funds through our book sale, and also a lovely donation from FROGS! – THANKS FROGS!!)
