2022-08-18T13:27:09+01:00

Well done to all the children who took part in yesterday's annual Netball/Football Tournament at Kingsacre. It was a great day, with lots of competition and some excellent behaviour! The 'netballers' played their first ever 5v5 game of netball - they lost two matches, drew one and won one. Well done girls! The two football teams both made it to their [...]

Measuring in class 1

2019-03-20T15:44:18+00:00

This week we have started looking at different ways to measure length and height! We've done lots of different activities. We found out how tall our friends were using bricks; we put ourselves in order from shortest to longest and we used unifix cubes to measure different objects in the classroom! We even measured the giant didgeridoo - which was [...]

Georgeham X Country Runner’s Finish the Season in Style…

2022-08-18T13:27:11+01:00

We had a lovely assembly this morning when some of the children came in wearing their Cross Country medals from the weekend! Here's a report! Georgeham's intrepid team of cross country runners took part in the Gliddon and Squire X Country League Finals at West Buckland School this weekend.  The event was rescheduled after snow earlier in the season and [...]

Stepping Stones Take Off…

2022-08-18T13:27:11+01:00

A huge apology to the Stepping Stones parents and carers. You may witness some signs of Jet Lag this weekend and we fear it may be our fault. You see, we have covered a lot of miles this week. On Tuesday we got on a plane and flew to Africa for safari. This trip included an in flight snack, which [...]

Building bridges…and stories!

2022-08-18T13:27:11+01:00

Last week in Stepping Stones we explored bridges and this led to a huge array of activities. We talked about bridges and their uses. We built bridges out of lego, duplo, blocks, junk modelling. We also explored the 'Billy goats Gruff' story. It was a great topic and the children built some fantastic structures and started some amazing conversations. During [...]

Climate Change Day…! (we were in school!)

2022-08-18T13:27:11+01:00

It's "Climate Change Day"today, or whatever it's called.  What a great opportunity to talk to the children about climate change!  We've been doing lots of this already over the past few years and of course, more recently in becoming UK's 1st Plastic Free School.   We've been encouraged to stuff plastic into bottles, recycle lots and we've ALL applied and been [...]

Class 4 at the Eden Project

2019-03-14T17:52:25+00:00

Class 4 had a fantastic two days at the Eden Project.  We did some excellent workshops: 'Plant Explorers' and 'Sustainability Sussed' and had a great 'Night in the Biome' Experience. Nick, our Eden teacher, was brilliant - he knew so much about all the plants and made our time there really interesting. Hopefully your children have told you all about [...]

Class 3 Get Creative…

2019-03-13T22:34:00+00:00

Class 3 had a great time in our Artmash Glass workshop with Lisa yesterday. We learnt how glass in fired and then spent the morning making rain forest leaves for our collaborative art piece. Then, in the afternoon, everyone designed and made their own glass panels based on our Henri Rousseau jungle work. It was something really different, [...]

Blue Peter Badges…

2019-03-11T13:56:40+00:00

What a lovely surprise to spot a few Green Blue Peter Badges on children's jumpers in this morning's assembly! I also then received an email of one of our Class 4 children, really quite proud of their badge that came through the post on Saturday.  (I quite feel for their badge team having to pack and deliver 100 individual badges!) [...]
