It was great to see Georgeham’s team grow for yesterday’s 3rd x country meet in the Gliddon and Squire North Devon Cross Country Event. Alfred and Harry joined Jack to make up a team for the Under 9 boys and they all gave it their all on an undulating course that seemed to go round in circles a fair bit over the fields at Coxleigh Barton. The views to the estuary and sea were stunning if there was time to look up!

The under 9 girls held strong and are now 11th in the standings. The under 9 boys are 23rd after just one event (some of the teams have points from all three races so to be 23rd after just one is fantastic).

The under 11s continue to move up the rankings to a solid 12th position. There were some big efforts on a longer course with a pretty tough additional field on an off camber with a long incline. Fred P managed to stop and thumbs up the camera and then sprint to close the gaps in front of him – which pretty much sums up the spirit of this league!

As ever Chloe C smiled her way round the Under 11 girls – it would be fantastic if we could get some more team mates to join her in this category.

Well done to all the runners – you smile and laugh way more than any of the parents remember from our days running around school fields!
