We encourage our families to park in one of the village car parks (for those who need to) and walk to school, rather than drive to the entrance. Georgeham School is situated on a quiet single track road where it illegal to stop, even to drop off, outside of the school. Not only is it healthier to walk to school but it provides excellent opportunity for families to talk about their child’s learning – we also timed that it takes only 30 seconds longer to walk the same distance!
In 2009, our village was successful in getting a 20mph speed limit to the whole village, not only the road outside school.
