Pre-School

aka the Foundation Stage Unit (FSU)

Our preschool FSU is open every day of the week and matches the school opening hours and term time opening days
(see Term dates and school day ).

We now welcome children from aged 2 every day of the week whilst adhering to the staffing ratios for children aged 2-5.  Our Pre School children are known as ‘Little Acorns’ and our Reception aged children are known as ‘Big Acorns.’ 

The FSU follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to provide a range of activities linked to each child’s interests and next steps.

We provide a safe and nurturing environment to enable children to have the confidence to question, clarify and share their thinking. Communication and language is the heart of our day to day learning; through songs, rhymes, stories and conversations, we set high expectations for vocabulary and knowledge.

We have a large, covered outdoor area, we’re also lucky enough to have a Forest School site just behind our classroom. We have waterproof all-in-one puddle suits for every child, so the weather won’t stop us!
