Dear Parents / Carers

World Book Day falls on Thursday 4th March this year. However, we have made the decision as a school to celebrate this a week later, on Thursday 11th March. This is so that we can celebrate it properly, in school, dressed up as our favourite characters, with every child together. After a difficult few weeks of our children being away from school and their friends, we are really looking forward to having a day of fun, exciting activities together! It will be a fancy dress day, but the outfits do not need to be elaborate or expensive; this website has some ideas of easy outfits https://www.theschoolrun.com/no-sew-costumes-world-book-day.

School funds are really quite tight at the moment and we would love to refresh our library stocks. Therefore, we would really appreciate your help in two different ways, if you are able to. The first is that we would really appreciate a donation on World Book Day; this could be the cost of, or a small contribution towards the cost of, a new book for our library. Secondly, we would welcome any donations of undamaged or "nearly new" unwanted books from families, of any authors, ages and genres, again to help provide our children with a good range and stock of books to enjoy.

We are really looking forward to a fun-packed day, with children excitedly exploring new books and characters.
