Class 3 had an unexpectedly sunny day at RHS Rosemoor today where we found out all about the importance of soil! We learnt what plants need to live, how important plants and trees are for the world – and us, what soil is made of  and what type of soil is best for growing. We tested the conditions for growing in different parts of the gardens using some great science equipment, planted our own seeds to bring home and germinate, went for a walk in the woods spotting different species of British trees and (most importantly) tested out the very fast slide.

Well done to Class 3 for a great day (our workshop teacher was impressed with their knowledge of Britain’s temperate rainforests, how plants grow and global warming). A big thanks to the excellent team @Rosemoor for a really informative workshop and a massive thanks to the Richard, Roz and Jen who gave their time to help out.
