What a brilliant breakfast morning that was!  Thanks to Dan Craddock (you may recognise the chap serving you this morning from The Rock Inn, just up the road), and of course Keri who has been busy organising this, Scott from The Rock for coming in early and cooking lots and also Liz for a fantasitc sign!  We so need to do this again!
A big thanks to Grattons Butchers in Barnstaple, MC Kellys’s and J&R for the rolls too, but certainly to The Rock Inn staff for a great commnity event.
Thanks for your contributions too!  These will all go to support the school’s finances and inevitably, of course, the children!

Please note, an advert below
for a part-time administrator position at our school.

Again, a lovely commuity event in the Parish Picnic on Wednesday. It really was excellent and we almost had volunteers from 70+ years ago offering to take part in the Maypole dancing!  We missed a trick there – maybe we should have had a parents and grandparents dance?!  (The Summer Fair is pencilled in for Friday 22nd July so we may just do that!)

And the school community too… with a Volleyball tournament on Croyde against the local schools in the Braunton Learning Cooperative Trust.  We were 1 point away from being in the final, and it’s been pointed out that we beat the winning teams in the morning’s play offs too!  So Close!

We Are Adventurous – “Encourage one another…”

You may have heard that our School Administrator, Jo Benfield, has been offered an exciting new role within Devon County Council’s School Finance Department.  Jo will be missed hugely, but she will be returning as an advisor to help us with our budgeting process each year!  She’s going to be working in the new position 2 days a week after half term before taking up the full time role from September.
We will be recruiting for a full time replacement, but in the meantime we are seeking an enthusiastic and organised individual who could support us with reception and clerical work on Mondays and Tuesdays, from 8.30am to 3.30pm for 8 weeks from the 7th June. The position will be based in the school office and duties will include welcoming visitors, answering the phone and emails, and supporting the school team with administrative tasks.  If you know of anyone who may be interested please get in touch – we are keen to recruit someone from the local community.  Please contact me via my email:  head@georgeham-primary.devon.sch.uk.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.   This role requires a DBS disclosure.

Hope you have a lovely half-term break everyone.

Please note, Monday 6th is an ‘Occasional Day’
…and so we look forward to seeing children back on Tuesday 7th June.

Our front doors are open between 8.45 and 8.55 with children doing learning activities as soon as they arrive. Sadly, the ones who arrive late at 9.00 am would have missed this, and the ones who are later can even miss the introduction to the next learning task.
Please aim to arrive for 8.45am

Please do look at the school menu before you leave home in the morning. Keri is unable to adjust the menu each day and it’s important that the children know what’s on offer and are happy to make choices in the morning.

Encourage one another, and build each other up.
