In class 1, this term in Religious Education, we have being learning all about Christian ceremonies that celebrate how special we are to God. We’ve spent time learning about baptism and the rituals that go with this. We’ve even looked at other religions and enjoyed learning about the ways that a baby’s birth are celebrated all around the world. Yesterday afternoon, we decided to hold a baptism of our own, complete with organ music, right here in class 1. We all took turns to act out the various roles, such as: vicar, parents, guests and Godparents in our role play. The children especially enjoyed playing vicar and using water from the font (washing up bowl) to baptise little baby, Geoff.
