Although there are no current plans to take on a student teacher from September, the North Devon Teaching School Alliance that we’re part of has placements available in many schools in Devon. Read on if you’d like to explore becoming a teacher!

Our school is part of a growing number of schools that is leading the way for more school-led teacher training. This is really important to us because it means we can choose the very best talent and develop them into teachers. Being able to choose who we train as teachers helps us in delivering the best outcomes for the students within our partnership schools.

We have vacancies now to start training from September 2019 and we would be very interested to hear from you if you are thinking of becoming a teacher, or know someone who is. We’re looking for people who have (or will have) a degree, have a passion for teaching and want to inspire young people to fulfil their potential.

On 27th February 2019 we will be hosting an informal drop-in event at Park School in Barnstaple.  We will be on hand to answer any questions. We can also provide you with support and guidance on your application form and offer you school experience if you just want a taster of what teaching could be like.  Book your free place now by visiting https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/18657544950

Our ITT recruitment is managed by our nationally designated teaching school alliance, the North Devon Teaching School Alliance (NDTSA) of which we are a partner school.

You can also find out more information about training to teach with the NDTSA on our website http://ndtsa.org/teacher-training/

For any further information on what becoming a teacher might involve more generally, you can also visit http://www.education.gov.uk/get-into-teaching.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Kind regards

Mrs Gail Holmes
