Due to the fact Mr Thomas was out at the aquathlon with children from classes 3 and 4, I asked the 3 remaining year 6 to lead assembly. They agreed (very eagerly) and managed to welcome children into the hall, encourage children to talk about their week, gave a prayer and finally asked children a class at a time to quietly leave the hall.

Comments from our new assembly leaders included;

“It is harder doing assembly than it looks”

“I was so nervous that when I said good afternoon they wouldn’t answer back”

“I really enjoyed it, I think it is great we got the chance to do it”

I was so proud of how the children rose to the challenge by giving such a confident assembly. They independently decided to plan their assembly through their lunch. It was also fantastic to see the rest of the school listening so well. 😀
