2016-09-13T19:13:17+01:00

Well done to the children and families who took part in Friday's Putsborough Beach Walk / Run... including the dozen or so children who came over from Shirwell Primary - possibly their running club as they were great runners! It was a lovely early evening and I thoroughly enjoyed it... yes fair enough, I didn't run! Thanks to Rob and [...]

Getting to know the NEW class 4

2016-09-09T20:29:55+01:00

In assembly this week, Mr Thomas has been talking about our SEAL topic ‘New Beginnings’ and how we can work as a team to support each other in our learning. As it was my first Friday with class 4 we decided to combine a 'new beginning' with a 'new' class 4 with the important team work skills that we talked [...]

Week 1 done! (nearly…..)

2022-08-18T13:27:20+01:00

Well done Class 2!  It's been a great start to the year, with everyone showing how well they can listen and help each other.  It's quite daunting starting in a new class but there has been a lovely calm atmosphere and already we've had some great thinking taking place, particularly with  our special week of maths challenges. How do you [...]

2016-09-05T21:11:28+01:00

We loved meeting our new Reception children and welcoming them to Georgeham School. We have had a great morning and both the Reception and Year 1 children were very well behaved! What a great start to the year! :-) In the morning we looked around the school, met Mr Thomas, had a dance in Wake and Shake, played in our [...]

Good-bye and good luck to our fantastic 2016 year 6’s!

2022-08-18T13:27:20+01:00

It's always sad to see our year 6's leaving, but each and every one of this year's cohort have so much to be proud of that it was also really nice to celebrate their successes and look back at their achievements and highlights from the last 7 years. As a school we are really proud of how they have [...]

Yr 6 BBQ in style…

2022-08-18T13:27:20+01:00

Yr 6 chose a BBQ for their leavers' lunch this year and carried it off in style... They dined al fresco with flowers on the table (thanks Miss Trute!) and a chocolate fountain with fruit and marshmallows for dessert. After a wet start to the day, we even had sunshine! Thanks to Kerry for putting on such a great spread, [...]

2016-07-18T18:58:29+01:00

Class 4 have spent the day on the beaches at Woolacombe today, making the most of the fabulous weather! We started off the morning with the National Trust rangers doing a rock-pool ramble at Combesgate Beach which has amazing pools to explore. It was great to have the rangers there to tell us all about the wildlife that [...]

Architecture in Class 4

2022-08-18T13:27:20+01:00

As part of our end of term maths assessment, class 4 worked in groups to create a 3d world using their knowledge of nets. We had lots of different ideas including a representation of London, a stables, a campsite, Candy Land (inspired by Candy Crush I think...) and a land inspired by a computer game. The whole class had a [...]

2016-07-15T11:16:29+01:00

Children from West Down School, part of the West Berry Federation, came in today to show us a game called Peg Snatch that they enjoy playing at break time. Millie-Grace-"It was a really great way to get moving when you have been sitting in the classroom. It really helped watching West Down play first and they were really good [...]
