PE Impact Statement 2016 – 2017

The fourth year of the PE Sports Premium has been used in a number of ways.  Our Fun Fit intervention and ‘catch-up’ swimming have been successful in improving fundamental movement skills and developing confidence in the water for those children who took part.  Some children have again participated in our ‘Young Leaders’ award and lots of children are enjoying even more ‘active’ lunchtimes!

Our running track has proved to be very successful, with lots of children utilising the extra space it provides, particularly on those wet, damp days, when the field is inaccessible.

A large proportion of this year’s premium has been used to pay for staffing for festivals, tournaments and trips.  Without the Sports Premium many Teaching Assistant hours would have been lost, resulting in a drop in our participation at many of these out of school activities that are a much-valued part of our rich and varied curriculum.
