Class 3 have had a fantastic time this week on our our annual residential to St George’s House. Monday we narrowly missed the torrential downpour to enjoy perfect sunshine on our rock scrambling around Baggy Point. All the children showed how adventurous and ambitious they were with some really challenging climbing, and it was great to see them all encouraging and supporting each other in their groups.

Unsurprisingly, given that our class targets rarely move away from talk expectations, it was a noisy Monday evening! However we had great fun with the very difficult to judge (Well done Mrs Benfield) teddy competition and also some excellent teamwork from the children in charge of washing up, clearing and setting up for breakfast. A special shout out to room 1 who were first to sleep and last to wake up 😊😊

Tuesday morning everyone got up and got their rooms sorted brilliantly. Then, after breakfast, year 3 headed off on the long walk to Putsborough Beach while year 4 enjoyed a day of archery, fencing and giant’s marble run (because conditions were not suitable for surfing). It was another fantastic day, with the children all working together, challenging themselves and supporting each other. In the afternoon they all had some well deserved free time playing in and around the centre.

As always  it was lovely to feel so welcome and cared for by the St George’s House staff who make our stay so memorable, and a big well done to class 3 who worked hard and really made the most of their time away. A massive thanks to Mrs Ivall, Miss Lewis and Miss Tucker for their help and hard work and a big well done to the children for their enthusiasm and bucket filling.
