Dear Parents,

I’m sending this via our blog as well as via email, so that absolutely everyone is kept informed of our current position, and we don’t miss anyone out.

I’d like to say thank you for the positive responses, the feedback and the general acceptance of the situation regarding Covid-19, which has certainly made a bit of an impact in North Devon and our small community.

Closing classes and moving to remote provision would always be a last resort but, after advice from Devon County Council, we had to implement this plan due to staffing levels and to ensure the safety of the remaining children on site.

I appreciate that our decisions may have caused an impact for some of our families.  However, I’ve heard of a lovely community feel where families have pulled together to help each other.

We had hoped to be able to open fully again on Friday for at least one class, but we will have to continue with the current arrangement.

  • Remaining closed for Class 3 and Class 4, for Thursday and Friday
  • Online provision through Oak Academy (-link-) as per my previous email
  • Please use Google Docs (not Classroom) to record work.
  • We will continue to monitor the situation towards, and over, the weekend, and we will again email and blog information about next week’s plans.

If you have any concerns or questions about the impact of this plan on your children, please contact me on head@georgeham-primary.devon.sch.uk.

We are all really crossing our fingers for a normal week, next week!

Regards,
Julian Thomas
