We are Kind

Do to others as you would have them do to you.”

Luke 6 v.31

It’s lovely news that we can restart our Parents’ Meetings!   Over the next couple of weeks we’re providing opportunities to meet and discuss your child’s learning and time in class, with your child’s teacher.  Hopefully you’ve been given an opportunity by now to book either a meeting in the classroom or a meeting via Zoom, but if you’ve not received the email, or the clip-board on the playground, do phone through to the office and Jo can add you to the list.   We ask that any parent who comes into school to wear a mask please (which they can remove whilst they’re sitting talking to the teacher) and to hand sanitise on the way in... of course, anyone with symptoms should be isolating, and arranging a PCR test.

It’s World Mental Health Day on Sunday

  • Jesse said we need to have cuddles.
  • Felicity said we need to drink plenty of water.
  • Tess Hill-Dymond said it’s good to have hugs and kisses.
  • Nadia said that we should be kind to others, because it’s nice receiving it.
  • Arwen also said that helping others makes you feel good.
  • Niamh said that we have to eat healthily.
  • Phoebe Hames said we shouldn’t stress (spelling test!) before bedtime, but relax.  Mr Thomas added about stopping technology beforehand too!
  • Jasper said we should do lots of exercise and then get home and sleep lots.  (I love that one!)

WANTED : Pre school would be very pleased to receive any cot sheets or blankets that are no longer need at home.

Preschool will soon be talking about ‘Our Families and Traditions’ with the children.  We would love every child to bring in a photo to show the group.  Encouraging them to talk about their traditions and celebrations.

We have leaflets coming out (have already with some classes) for the Christmas Boxes appeal.   3rd November is the final collection date for these.  Please wrap up a shoebox and follow the instructions on the leaflets about what to put in them.

We’ve actually been forewarned about a road closure next week.  Be aware and prepared for Incledon Hill and Frog Street Hill to be closed to traffic and diversions put in place on Wednesday 13th.  From what we’ve been told by South West Water, it’s all day… but of course this may change.

We blogged this week about the trips to Combe Martin Dinosaur Park, Watermouth Castle, the walk down the River Lyn and also the Athletics competition with the Braunton Learning Cooperative Trust.  I hope you enjoyed the photos!

Volunteer readers in school – we’d love to increase the amount of volunteers we have, to hear the children read a little bit more in school.  Please get in touch with Jo in the office if you’ve  got a spare morning or afternoon during the week you could help us with.  We’d prefer a regular commitment simply so we can plan and organise the week with this in mind, and all volunteers are subject to a DBS.
