Making jam sandwiches in class one!

2018-11-16T16:23:22+00:00

This week we started reading 'Mr Wolf's Pancakes'. In the story, Mr Wolf asks his neighbours (Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs...) to help him make some pancakes. They were all very rude and told Mr Wolf they didn't want to help him! So, we wrote letters to Mr Wolf telling him we were sorry that he didn't [...]

Class 1 and 2 at North Hole Farm.

2022-08-18T13:27:12+01:00

It was worth waiting for our lovely sunny day we picked for our farm visit. We had such a lovely morning at this amazing dairy farm. The cows are milked by a robot and computer with no adults anywhere near. We learnt that the cows come down whenever they want and queue up on their own to be milked. The [...]

Be Confident… To Be The One…

2018-11-13T13:34:35+00:00

It's Anti-Bullying week.  Have a look at this video! In assembly this morning, we talked about being confident to be the one who does something about bullies! We briefly touched on what a bully is too of course. > Everyone can be mean or do something that hurts in some way - accidentally or by choice - but when this happens [...]

Lest we forget…

2018-11-11T13:33:47+00:00

A very poignant Armistice Day service at St. George's Church this morning. Our children's poppies were very gratefully received by the community and many people remarked at how beautiful they are.  Some even spotted the 11 purple poppies painted by our Stepping Stones children, representing the estimated 11 million animals that died during the war. Lucy Rinvolucri and Sarah Tucker [...]

Poppies… and poems.

2018-11-09T17:51:13+00:00

I'd like to share some of the work we've done heading towards Armistice Day this Sunday. Poppies... and poems. Only one of these were planned for and directed... and a HUGE thank you must go to Sarah Tucker for the sheer amount of work and effort in prepping so many plastic bottles! The poem that found its way on to [...]

Wearing Blue Day (but not feeling blue)

2018-11-09T17:38:25+00:00

Today was 'Wear Blue Day' for many, many schools in the UK and apparently it's been recognised as an important day in schools around the world too. It's Anti-Bullying Week next week and the whole school will be signing our pledge to SAY NO to bullying.  We spoke about having the confidence to speak to someone in school, whether that [...]

How are you feeling today?

2022-08-18T13:27:12+01:00

It’s been a fairly dark and drizzly time outside this week which has given us plenty of time to sit with the children of Stepping Stones and talk about this week's topic, feelings and behaviours. Let’s face it, it’s not always easy talking about what’s going on inside, but that’s ok and that’s what we’ve wanted the children to understand. [...]
