School Dinners…

2015-09-15T11:27:02+01:00

I was walking through the hall just as Keri and Jo were putting everything out and spotted, not just how gorgeous it's all smelling, wafting through to my office that's far too close to the kitchen than it should be, but how lovely and inviting it looks! Keri pointed out that olives in the salad was a request from one [...]

Week 1!

2015-09-11T15:45:28+01:00

Wow - a whole week has gone already! We've had another busy day, with lots of small group work focusing on teamwork and communication! Today's maths challenge was about recognising patterns. We also now have four resident dragons in the class! Our Class Rules are all agreed and our 'Good to be Green' system is working well! Hopefully the pictures [...]

The NEW class 4

2022-08-18T13:27:23+01:00

In one of the blog post this week Mr Thomas wrote about our SEAL topic 'New Beginnings'. As it was my first Friday with class 4 we decided to think about how we can work well together in our new beginning as the NEW class 4. So.... the children had to work together in teams to build a tower using just straws and masking [...]

Hands up…?

2022-08-18T13:27:23+01:00

Interesting piece about when you should use 'hands up' in the classroom. We're right behind this; already doing what they describe.  It ensures that many and different children are expected to answer, it promotes children's discussions and as Professor Wiliam says, it gets some children surprised that the quiet ones (who don't like putting their hands up) do know quite [...]

Another Dino-tastic Day in Class 1!

2015-09-08T18:52:15+01:00

Another fun-filled day today in Class 1 with more dinosaur roaring, making pasta hair, making play doh dinosaurs, finding dinosaur bones and teeth in the dinosaur den and serving customers in the fish and chip shop! Some of the children even impressed me with their number knowledge today - clearly they have been doing lots of counting over the summer! [...]

Well done Class 2 - what a lovely day we've had! Don't forget to tell your 'grown ups' what we've been doing. There's a couple of pictures below to remind you all! Quotes about our day: Elsie -' magnificent' Kitty and Martha - 'super' Abigail - 'a great day' Micah - 'excellent' Samson and Jacob - 'epic' Dante - 'a [...]

Our first day in Class 1!

2015-09-07T15:22:45+01:00

We had a great morning in Class 1, exploring the classroom and dressing up (and roaring) like dinosaurs! (The roaring might explain the sore throat your child may have come home with!) In the afternoon we even found some dinosaurs exploring the dinosaur den, if you look closely you may see their tails poking out... or was it just the [...]

Welcome Back!

2022-08-18T13:27:23+01:00

Welcome Back! My assembly this morning was all about being nervous on your first day back but also being nervous about trying new things. You’ve got to try because if you succeed you’ll be happy, and if you fail, well… you’ve learnt! Have a look at the assembly presentation on our blog! We’ll be trying to increase our use of [...]

New Beginnings…

2015-09-07T09:39:12+01:00

It's the start of the school year... welcome back to those returning and hello to our new parents! Each term we focus on an aspect of our SEAL curriculum which is based on Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning.  This term we start with 'New Beginnings.'  This theme offers children the opportunity to see themselves as valued individuals within a community, [...]
