Class 3 spent the morning on Saunton Sands working to build their own defences to protect their soldiers. We were so impressed with how well all the groups worked together to source materials from the beach and create some very inventive castles, tunnels and shelters.

After lunch, the children had the opportunity to learn all about D Day and the part their local beaches played in it. They had access to lots of artifacts from the period including Jeeps and other vehicles, and had the chance to ask some soldiers and a 1940s lady about how life would have been.
