Science club-feeding our hungry dinosaurs

2022-08-18T13:27:32+01:00

Today in science club we all received a letter from a hungry dinosaur who asked to be woken up with a breakfast of bicarbonate of soda and vinegar. Everyone worked hard to feed their dinosaur in a somewhat messy (and colourful) meal time! Thank you to the class 4 science club assistants; Sam, James, Sarah and Luke. You were a [...]

Storytelling and maths combined!

2022-08-18T13:27:32+01:00

In class 4 we have been trying to refresh our memories about the names and properties of each kind of triangle using storytelling and drama. Holly and Grace performed these amusing stories to the class (with fantastic actions!!) Equilateral Triangle (ET for short) works in a regular job, in regular office, in a regular town. He likes everything to be [...]

2022-08-18T13:27:32+01:00

Well done to Braunton FC who put in several members of their under 9s team in the Gliddon and Squire North Devon Cross Country League. The team managed to gain a few positions in the first 10 boys over the finish line, securing them a fantastic First in the Teams - well done! Look at the size of the trophy that the [...]

E-Safety

2022-08-18T13:27:32+01:00

This afternoon, class 4 started to look at being safe online. We used the ThinkuKnow website and their Cybercafe page where we had to make decisions... LINK: Think U Know's Cybercafe! There were loads of questions that we were posed in the cafe... What to do with an unrecognised email... requests to meet after being online... answering your mobile whilst [...]

Year 6 Residential

2022-08-18T13:27:32+01:00

We're due to have a Parent's meeting this afternoon about the Year 6's residential to London in June (the 16th). We've used Cheshunt Young Mariners Base for our activities - kayaking, climbing and caving, and Mr Thomas has been using the centre for approximately 12 years now, even running an after-school climbing club there once! Cheshunt Young Mariners Base [...]

Beano Man!!

2022-08-18T13:27:32+01:00

Classes 1 & 2 had a great time watching Kevin, the Beano Man drawing lots of funny cartoons. Our favourites were Bart Simpson (which Jonah was chosen to draw in front of everyone) and The Incredible Hulk (on the toilet)! We think that we all might have a go at drawing cartoons now because he gave us lots of good [...]

Knit one, purl one!

2014-01-12T12:49:11+00:00

Would any children in Class 4 be interested in learning how to knit?  Or perhaps you can already knit and could help pass your skills on to a friend?  With Mr T's permission, I thought about doing a lunchtime knitting club - say on a Tuesday from 12.45 to 1.15. A scarf is always a popular first project, but how [...]

2014-01-10T20:00:15+00:00

We had our first science club this afternoon for classes 1 and 2! Magnets, string telephones, electrical circuits, picking up breakfast cereal with a balloon using static electricity (“a bit like a soft magnet ”-Annie), chemical reactions and more! We even managed to find out that an apple can power a clock better than a courgette can! What a busy [...]
