Class 4 had a great day at the Braunton School Athletics Festival yesterday competing against years 5 & 6 from all of the Braunton Learning Community primary schools. The day was run as a mini Olympics and our teams (Uganda and Greece) ran, jumped, hurdled and threw their way round 8 different activities designed to test their endurance [...]

2015-05-08T12:48:43+01:00

Class 4 started their DT project on vehicles this week with a challenge: can you make a vehicle that will carry a passenger safely down a ramp? They had just 45 minutes to design and build their vehicle from scratch! Every group succeeded in keeping their passenger safe, and the winning vehicle travelled an impressive 3.8 metres! [...]

2022-08-18T13:27:24+01:00

It was a very early start (well done to everyone for getting there well before time!) but the children all seemed suitably impressed when the Biomes of The Eden Project came into view. After dropping our things in The Core we went to see the WEEE Man (a giant sculpture made out of electrical waste) and then onto [...]

Class 4 go to Arlington with the National Trust

2022-08-18T13:27:27+01:00

Despite a dodgy weather forecast, class 4 set off for Arlington Court on Thursday morning for a day of outside art and den building. Luckily it stayed dry and we were able to get out in the woods to look for different colours in nature and create our own 'Bog Art' creatures in the trees using natural clay from the [...]

Class 4 are starting their Ancient Greek pots tomorrow afternoon and I just wondered if any parents would like to come in to help as we've only got 2 afternoons to get them done in... We are making them out of clay so it's likely to be messy. Let me know if you are interested! 1.15 to 3.15pm

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

Some great tunes from the guitar group It was a sad but very proud afternoon today as we said good-bye to our amazing year 6 at the leavers' assembly. The cohort of 2014 are a very talented, lively bunch who are going to leave a big hole here at Georgeham. As Mr Thomas said, they may be leaving [...]

Year 6 leavers’ lunch

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

Yesterday year 6 had their traditional leavers' lunch of a roast dinner, ice-cream and cupcakes! Even the children admitted they were full by the end, and made the sensible decision to wait (only about an hour) before tucking into a second round of home-made cakes supplied by Ruby! A massive thanks to Heidi Butters for baking the delicious leavers' cupcakes, [...]

Mr Thomas claims he is not completely wet…

2022-08-18T13:27:28+01:00

After having a water fight with 19 very enthusiastic year 6s Mr Thomas initially claimed he had been wetter last year... 1v19 - He survived but got a little damp However we think photographic evidence supports his later admission that there wasn't a single square millimetre of him that wasn't completely soaked! Well done year 6 - a very [...]
