AND THAT’S A WRAP!!!

I’m currently sat here alone in the Stepping Stones classroom after a whirlwind of a week. Not to mention this afternoon’s Summer Party which seemed to go down really well! It’s oh so quiet, very bizarre! With the end of term approaching at the speed of light Harriet, myself and the rest of the Stepping Stone gang have been busy trying to tie up all the ends to make sure we’re prepared for next term at the same time as making sure the children are happy and engaged in play. So, what better way to do this than to focus the week on the end of term party! As we all know, no party is a party without a jolly good, snazzy, sparkly, party hat! So this is what we have been doing. Pastels, glitter, sequins…the children have put a whole lot of thought into their party hats this week. As a result, they looked absolutely smashing, the children did a super job. Of course, naturally, when the parted started nobody was entirely interested in wearing a hat! They fall off easily and get in the way of crazy disco dancing…but that’s ok, we had a great time making them anyway! 😉

This afternoon’s party was great fun, thank you so much to all of the parents who kindly brought in a plate of food and to those of you who came along to join in. Of course, we totally appreciate that this isn’t always possible. However, having the extra hands for tea makers, spillage moppers and tidy uppers was greatly appreciated and the children loved having an audience too! We wanted to make it about them and of course, Stepping Stones has said goodbye to a whopping 9 children this week. Off to start a new chapter in reception. So not a final farewell as we shall be seeing many familiar faces across the fence in September as they venture into Class One territory. However, we wish them all the very best of luck anyway and we hope you enjoy every second of stepping up to BIG school!

Obviously, Harriet and myself haven’t been at Stepping Stones for a massive amount of time but we have enjoyed every minute and are going to miss the little characters that we have had the pleasure of spending time with. We are looking forward to a fresh start in September and have lots of exciting new ideas to bring to the room. With lots of new starters, no doubt we will be kept on our toes…just how we like it.

So, for now, we wish you all a very happy summer, filled with lots of lovely family time. We very much look forward to seeing you again in September. 😉
