Ice-pop Fun!

We had fun this afternoon investigating which material would keep the ice-pop frozen for the longest! I hope everyone has now got their ice-pop in the freezer and has predicted how long it will take to re-freeze!

Class 4 recycled projects

Class 4 did recycled items for their projects. I had the pleasure of seeing three of them this morning. Carpet tiles and corner yogurts and a shreddies box... all made Daisy's recycled house. Including a bean bag from her old socks! "I really liked how you've gone to different places to collect things for it!" said Thomas "It's epic!" said [...]

Pancake races…

Blowing more than a gale outside but we still decided to get out there this afternoon and flip pancakes! The children loved it (lots of cheering and teamwork) and Team Hill won! Joint 2nd was Team Rinvolucri and Team Ellis and 3rd was Team Turner. You'll spot some within the photos one of the staff too - Mrs Rinvolucri ran [...]

Act #1: Starting line

Not sure if forwarding an email will work for the blog, but it's worth a try. Follow the links to 40acts online and find some great alternatives to 'giving up something' for lent.

Family D.I.S.C.O.

This evening our disco had a lovely family feel with children and parents enjoying the opportunity to have a drink, a chat and (in some cases) a bit of a dance! Whilst the hall was once again the main stage for the music action (great DJ-ing skills Emma Trueman :-) ), class 4 became more of a'chill out' room with [...]

Happy Birthday!

We surprised Mrs Atkins by singing Happy Birthday to her today. We stopped our counting when we got to 30!

Fruit tasting – a taste of Thailand!

In Class 1 today, continuing the journey Miss Ellis took on her travels, we had a real treat tasting some exotic fruits from Thailand. Firstly we pretended we were entering a temple so we had to take off our shoes and ensure our shoulders and legs were covered as a mark of respect. We then passed around the different plates [...]

Roman projects…

Some lovely Roman projects starting to come in from the children in class 3 at the moment. This is Isla's homework on mosaics, answering interesting questions she's picked out for herself to research. I love the interesting fact that Pompeii's mosaic flooring has been preserved from the covering of ash and are really good quality ones to view. Behind Isla's [...]

Welcome to Class 1 Miss Ellis!

What an exciting day for us all in Class 1 today, Miss Ellis has joined us and what a great morning we have all had. We have been on a virtual journey to Australia and New Zealand, hearing all about Miss Ellis and Joey the kangaroo on their travels. We now have our own Travel Agent corner and lots of [...]

Year 1 & 2 Multi-skills

Everyone enjoyed the Festival on Tuesday. It was a busy (and very noisy) two hours of all sorts of different activities and lots of fun was had by all!
